"Some of the funniest, most vivid characters in American literature will come to life at Louisiana State University tonight when the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, "A Confederacy of Dunces," takes its world premier bow as a musical comedy. The LSU Theatre production will provide a Louisiana debut that is doubly fitting for the first staging of the late John Kennedy Toole's epic comedy. The novel is not only set in New Orleans but was published by the LSU Press, winning the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1980.....The colorful New Orleans character Ignatius Reilly, played by Scott Harlan, personifies the comic action in Louisiana State University Theatre's musical comedy adaptation...which debuts tonight. This world premiere will have 12 performances in the LSU University Theatre. Tickets are available at the LSU Union box office."
