Majolica White Cabbage Tureen Ironstone Shorter & Son England Antique 1905-1933

Description

Wonderful antique ironstone white majolica tureen in the shape of a cabbage.
Made in Stoke-on-Kent, England between 1905 and 1933 by Shorter and Son LTD.
Piece does show some very slight wear on the rim where the ladle may have caused rubbing. Also, there is a semicircular crack in the finial of the lid but seems superficial and not a through and through. These areas have been photographed so please look at the photos closely.
No other noted cracks, chips or repairs. There is some crazing often associated with pieces of this age but, due to the very detailed embossed surface, these are hard to see.
No chips on either the inside rim of the tureen or rim of the lid.
Dimensions are 13 inches wide at widest point of tureen body (includes handles) and 5.5 inches tall to rim of tureen body.
Height is 10.5 inches to top of finial with the lid on.
Black printed back stamp is clearly visible under glaze.
Tureen and lid set are being offered. There is no ladle.
