Crucible has a 150 Troy oz./4665 Grams, a LARGE Capacity for one that is
made of fused silica, can withstand temperatures up to
2500°F / 1371°C
.
NOTE:
Crucible size is approximately the same as a
Salamander #4
(see picture as a comparison).
We also show the Capacity of Crucible with 5 Lbs of Brass Slugs, each slug is approximately 1" x 1".
Crucible can be used with a gas melting furnace or torch melting.
A superior quality crucible, made of clay bonded High Grade Fused Silica, extending the life of usage of the Crucible.
The wall thickness of the crucible is
5/16" / 7.9mm.

This crucible may be used for melting scrap metals into Ingots as well as pouring metal in lost wax casting operations for vacuum assist castings machine.
Note:
Crucibles should always be
pre-heated
prior to use to eliminate moisture,
and glazed with Borax
prior to use
, which also helps extend the life of the crucible. Charge Crucible Slowly, with as small pieces as possible.
If Crucible shows wear, discard any further usage.
*Protective Clothing, heat gloves and eye protection must be worn when melting metals.
