    Description

Nice very rare piece of large advertising for the "Sugarbabies" play starring Mickey Rooney that played at the Mark Hellinger Theatre in New York from 1979 through 1982. This poster was an advertising piece for the theatre and is artist signed by Bennett and is dated 1980. The poster was glued to the wood frame that is seen in the pictures. The round holes around the frame are where the small bulbs went through to light the board up. The bad part is that the original owner had cut the board in half to conserve space. The original owner had acquired the piece when the theatre was sold to the Times Square Church in 1989 and he had done some work there and was given the piece by the church. The theatre is no longer used for plays so is one of the very few pieces of memorabilia left for the Mark Hellinger Theatre. Even though the piece cut in half, it still looks good when put together. You will also notice that there are some areas around the corner of poster that have some small folds, there are some small spots on the poster from age and the poster has some small rips where it was cut by the previous owner. I have looked for this exact poster and I can not find another one like it so it is super rare and perfect for a collector of New York theatre memorabilia. The measurements for the piece are 63"x 48".
